On the evening of September 3, the\u00a0Summer Moods\u00a0stage will welcome one of Lithuania\u2019s most subtle jazz duos,\u00a0CinAmono: Laura Budreckyt\u0117 and Vytis Nivinskas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After a year in California and tours across the United States, the musicians return to Vilnius with renewed energy.<\/p>\n

The foundation of CinAmono\u2019s sound is\u00a0voice and double bass<\/span>. With just two instruments, every pause, intonation and improvisational turn becomes especially clear. Laura and Vytis improvise extensively on stage, exchange musical ideas and create a surprisingly rich sound from their minimalist setup \u2013 from quiet, almost chamber-like passages to theatrical and rhythmically free improvisations.<\/p>\n

The duo has been performing together for more than a decade, with Lithuanian poetry forming an important part of their creative work. Their latest album,\u00a0Duo, features nine compositions based on texts by seven Lithuanian poets: Vytautas Ma\u010dernis, Salom\u0117ja N\u0117ris, Jonas Mekas, Valdemaras Kukulas, Liudvikas Jakimavi\u010dius, Tautvydas Marcinkevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 and Art\u016bras Valionis.<\/p>\n

The September 3 concert will also feature audience favourites\u00a0\u201cLiuku Liuku,\u201d<\/em> \u201cMano vasara\u201d<\/em><\/span>\u00a0and other CinAmono pieces from different periods of their creative journey.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Summer Moods<\/span>\u00a0concerts take place in the intimate garden of the Carmelite Monastery at the Gates of Dawn, a unique space open to just one hundred listeners. On September 3, only two instruments \u2013 voice and double bass \u2013 will fill the garden under the open sky, while the intimate setting will allow the audience to hear every pause, intonation and spontaneous improvisation up close.<\/p>\n
