Three talented performers \u2013 Silvija Vaitkevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117 (violin), Mindaugas Zimkus (tenor) and Paul\u0117 Gudinait\u0117 (piano) \u2013 invite you to the dreamy and subtle world of French music. The music of French and French-spirited composers from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries combines impressionistic light, sensitive lyricism, irony, and a slight touch of melancholy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The evening is centered around the intertwining sounds of the violin, voice, and piano. In vocal compositions, French poetry unfolds through an intimate relationship between music and words \u2013 from dreamy melancholy to a playful, sometimes ironic look at feelings. In the instrumental works, the same emotional world is extended without text: through the flexibility of the line, harmonic tension, and subtle changes in timbre.<\/p>\n

The music of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel exudes an intangible atmosphere, a play of light and shadow, while the works of Gabriel Faur\u00e9 are imbued with inner calm, gentle longing, and elegance. Francis Poulenc’s songs reveal a more modern, sometimes even paradoxical relationship with the text, while the works of Ernest Chausson and Camille Saint-Sa\u00ebns give the program a broader emotional spectrum \u2013 from tense lyrical expression to dramatic movement. In George Enescu’s songs, the French tradition takes on a distinctive, personal and somewhat unexpected tone.<\/p>\n

Silvija Vaitkevi\u010di\u016bt\u0117<\/strong> is a violinist who has been performing with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra since 2015 and has been working as a violin teacher at Vilnius Algirdas Music School since 2016. She actively performs as a soloist and chamber ensemble musician, appearing at festivals in Lithuania, Germany, and the Netherlands. She has performed at the Kristupas Festivals in Vilnius, the \u201cVoices of the World\u201d Festival in Palanga, the Kaunas State Philharmonic, Klaip\u0117da Concert Hall, Bir\u0161tonas Kurhaus, Gelgaudi\u0161kis Manor, and other concert venues across Lithuania. Her repertoire most frequently features 19th\u201320th century music. Together with various partners, she has prepared concert programmes such as \u201cMusic of Old Paris,\u201d \u201cNight of World Songs III,\u201d \u201cA True Story,\u201d and others.<\/p>\n

Mindaugas Zimkus<\/strong> is a singer and has been a soloist at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre since 2006. He also performs at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Klaip\u0117da State Musical Theatre. He has toured in various European countries. He has performed solo parts in large-scale vocal-symphonic works, vocal cycles by F. Schubert and R. Schumann, and chamber music programmes ranging from Baroque to contemporary Lithuanian and foreign composers. He is a Grand Prix laureate of the Stasys Baras Men\u2019s Voice Competition (2001) and the \u201cBeatri\u010d\u0117\u201d International Vocal Chamber Music Competition (2011). He has been nominated three times for the Golden Stage Cross and, in 2009, was \u043f\u0440\u0438\u0437\u043dized as the best soloist of the Kaunas State Musical Theatre.<\/p>\n

Paul\u0117 Gudinait\u0117<\/strong> is a pianist who received the Best Accompanist Diploma at the International Chamber Music Competition \u201cBeatri\u010d\u0117\u201d (2011) and won First Prize at the National Accompanists\u2019 Competition in Vilnius. She actively performs in concert halls in Lithuania and abroad and has participated in festivals such as \u201cDruskininkai Summer with M.
