Contemplating the stupidity and meaninglessness of man in his insatiable desire for power, Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco\u2019s play \u201cMacbett\u201d (1972) offers a new version of Shakespeare\u2019s tragedy. The chaos of the modern world, characterized by the loss of logic, is depicted grotesquely, and the political greed that dominates it is reminiscent of Alfred Jarry\u2019s farce \u201cKing Ubu\u201d. In the context of burlesque and absurdity, Shakespeare\u2019s great tragic characters are deformed, becoming caricatured. To paraphrase Ionesco, it is precisely humor that helps to reveal both the tragic and comic qualities of man. In the production of the play, the creators strive to remain faithful to the author\u2019s idea, to the ensemble acting of the actors.<\/p>\n

The aim of the performance is to enable today’s audience of different generations to enjoy the work, presenting it in the genre of tragicomic farce, which is how Ionesco described his play. The production of the performance was accompanied by a detailed analysis of the life and theatrical work of Eug\u00e8ne Ionesco.<\/p>\n
