On June 17, residents of Vilnius and visitors to the city are invited to explore one of Vilnius\u2019 most mysterious spaces \u2013 the Liepkalnis Water Reservoir, where the social performance Words Echo will take place.<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the event, athlete Vaidas \u017dlabys and artist \u017divil\u0117 \u0160erk\u0161nait\u0117, a former volunteer with Child Line (Vaik\u0173 linija), will attempt to set a Lithuanian record for the longest distance run in a circular trajectory within a closed underground space. This will be their second record attempt in an unusual location, aimed at drawing attention to the emotional well-being of children and young people.<\/p>\n

While the record attempt is underway, visitors will be able to explore a specially created immersive experience space. It will feature the installation Child Line Embraces with Words by artists Milda Pauk\u0161t\u0117 and Aust\u0117ja Masliukait\u0117, a video projection, and an exhibition of drawings.<\/p>\n

The exhibition showcases works created by \u017divil\u0117 \u0160erk\u0161nait\u0117\u2019s students. Through their drawings, children depict light \u2013 thoughts, people, and experiences that help them persevere during difficult moments. These artworks also serve as a symbolic source of encouragement for the record participants as they face the challenge of running a repetitive course in a confined underground environment.<\/p>\n

In the installation Child Line Embraces with Words, visitors will be invited to settle into a cozy cocoon and immerse themselves in a specially created audio experience. It weaves together children\u2019s experiences, difficult thoughts, and words of support offered every day by Child Line volunteers.<\/p>\n

The unique acoustics of the Liepkalnis Water Reservoir became the central metaphor of the performance. Just as sound leaves an echo in a space, our words, actions, and attention leave a lasting impact on the lives of others.<\/p>\n

The event is free of charge. Visitors are welcome at any time between 10:00 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.<\/p>\n
