{"id":232573,"date":"2026-06-04T12:35:54","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T09:35:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vilnius-events.lt\/?post_type=event&#038;p=232573"},"modified":"2026-06-09T12:44:30","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T09:44:30","slug":"lt-atvira-akademija-kult-ros-naktis","status":"publish","type":"event","link":"https:\/\/www.vilnius-events.lt\/en\/event\/lt-atvira-akademija-kult-ros-naktis\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Academy | Culture Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During <strong>Culture Night<\/strong>, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) opens its doors to the city, inviting visitors on a journey through music and theatre that stretches from the Academy\u2019s halls and corridors to Luki\u0161k\u0117s Square and the new stage of the Theatre and Dance Faculty.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s program brings together diverse art forms, generations, and sounds\u2014from the music of Mozart and experimental electronics to theatre performances and open-air piano concerts.<\/p>\n<p>At the Academy, visitors will have the rare opportunity to hear <strong>(Almost) All of Mozart\u2019s Songs<\/strong>, performed on an authentic 18th-century fortepiano in the J. Karosas Hall. At the same time, LMTA\u2019s corridors will transform into a living experimental music space, where the Electronic Music Ensemble will perform an electronic interpretation of <strong>Terry Riley\u2019s minimalist masterpiece <em>In C<\/em><\/strong>, blending improvisation, pulse, and collective creativity.<\/p>\n<p>Theatre also plays a central role in the evening\u2019s program. Audiences are invited to the new LMTA Theatre and Dance Faculty venue on Oland\u0173 Street to see <strong>\u201cThe Little Witch\u201d<\/strong> (<em>Raganiuk\u0117<\/em>), a warm and playful production that showcases the work of emerging theatre artists.<\/p>\n<p>A highlight of the night will once again be the <strong>\u201cBlack and White\u201d Piano Night<\/strong> in Luki\u0161k\u0117s Square. Since 2009, this open-air event has become a beloved Culture Night tradition, featuring performances by LMTA\u2019s young pianists. At midnight, renowned pianist <strong>Professor Petras Geniu\u0161as<\/strong> will take the stage for a special recital.
