For the fourth year in a row, the Government Office invites visitors to discover the Government Building not only as an institution but also as a place of culture and remembrance.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s program is dedicated to the Day of Mourning and Hope, observed on June 14, commemorating the mass deportations of Lithuanian residents to Siberia that began in 1941.<\/p>\n

Participants will join guided tours exploring the history of the Government Building and hear engaging stories about the activities that take place there today.<\/p>\n

The program will also feature the moving performance \u201cWords That Traveled Through the Forests,\u201d dedicated to the young poets and partisans Diana Glem\u017eait\u0117 and Irena Petkut\u0117. Their lives reveal the dramatic choice between creativity, freedom, and the realities of occupation.<\/p>\n

This evening invites visitors not only to experience theatre but also to pause, remember, and honor those who lost their freedom or lives, were deported, or chose to retreat into the forests to fight for Lithuania\u2019s freedom. It is a meaningful combination of culture and history, encouraging reflection on the value of freedom today.<\/p>\n

During Culture Night, on June 12, two guided tours of the Government Building will take place: one before the performance (18:00) and one after it (21:00). The performance begins at 19:30.<\/p>\n
