EURO 2012 Vilnius

The Old Continent Football Championship will take place in Poland and Ukraine starting from the 8th of June. In order to commemorate one of the most important events of football, Vilnius football fans will organize tournament "EURO 2012 Vilnius".

According to the organizers, representatives of public enterprise "Football Club of Vilnius Art Academy", the idea to organize the tournament stemmed from the intention to make football more popular in Lithuania and in such a way to celebrate the European Football Championship.

During the very first tournament 16 teams are going to participate and by drawing lots will be divided into four subgroups. The teams of "EURO 2012 Vilnius" tournament participants will represent the countries that are going to play in European Championship this year, namely: England, France, Germany, Spain, Ireland etc. After the playoffs the best two teams, which got into the finals, are going to compete for the symbolic trophy of this tournament – a copy of the European Football Championship Cup.

The tournament will take place in the stadium of Vilnius Salomėja Neris High School from the 8th of June till the 1st of July.
