Vita Pukštaitė-Bružė. Non-nobles
from 2011-12-09 to 2012-02-09
"Non-nobles" – these are usual plants or weeds: they grow in groups, they adapt easily, they fight in silence, and they are rarely noticed as well as rarely interested in. The names of the plants are imaginative, personified and metaphoric, e.g. the name of bent grass is "Tears of a rabbit" associates with disability, severe harm, injustice suffered by the weaker one. "Dandelion" usually insistently climbs through the gaps of the tiles by means of own teeth located on the small leaves. It is so stubborn, aggressive and stubby.
Within own exhibition Vita Pukštaitė-Bružė rallies the "beauty stereotypes, luxury, sham hierarchy". Thus, please be welcome and visit the exhibition held in Amber Gallery-Museum, lasting for two months and glance at "Non-nobles" from the other point of view.
