Alexandre Vassiliev’s collection, which is extremely rich in all kinds of fashion articles, is located in Paris and it took him 30 years to assemble it. In the course of these years it has travelled extensively and has been exhibited in many countries of the world. Prior to Vilnius the exhibitions have been held in Riga, Paris, London, Brussels, Istanbul, Moscow, Sidney, Honking, Tokyo and Santiago, and as a rule the venues are the museums of decorative art and fashion, as well as the museums of Art Institutes. Alexandre Vassiliev’s collection counts about 10 000 fashion garments and accessories beginning with the 18th century up to the 21st century. The collection is constantly being supplemented with new donations and acquisitions from auctions and antique shops.
The famous artist now offers to guide you to a period in vogue history from Romanticism to art deco, covering two hundred years. Most valued exhibits of Aleksandr Vasiljev's collection are presented in the Museum of Applied Art: more than 60 dresses, 600 and more accessories, photos, graphic artwork, paintings and works of apllied art.
