Samuel Bak’s Exhibition
from 2011-12-30 to 2012-03-30
Bak was born in Vilnius in 1933. He held his first exhibition at the age of nine in the Vilnius Ghetto. After World War II Bak studied art in Munich, later at the Bezazel Art School in Israel and the Ecole des Beax Arts in Paris. He lived and worked in Rome, New York, Paris and Switzerland; since 1993 in Weston, Massachusetts (USA).
On display are Bak’s early works from the stocks of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum as well as the latest works, allied to the cycle "Adam and Eve" that was first on show at the Pucker Gallery in Boston in July 2011. Partners: Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the Pucker Gallery (USA), and America Centre.
