Ašis (Axis)

"LIETIS" is a group of four professional young artists who create Baltic jewelry. Vita Lemežienė, Aurimas Lemežis, Sigita Jonynaitė and Marius Būda started working together from 2005 and since then all of them have been participating in various international festivals of experimental archeology, events of historical reconstructions and exhibitions.

The Baltic Amber Art Centre "LIETIS" introduces jewelry and sculpture exhibition "Axis". According to the artists many pieces of the jewelry do not stand for copies - they were created referring to a theme of ancient pieces of jewelry, which was taken for a free interpretation, as well as the displayed works represent replicas of certain pieces of jewelry. Thus visitors can find both the copies of archeological artefacts and artistic interpretations of the authors.
